The basis for Christian missions at Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church includes:
>> aiding in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20)

To reach people for Christ requires the commitment of persons who will respond to God's call to involve themselves in the Great Commission.

Missionaries (long and short term) are those who respond to the call of God through various local churches and are sent by mission agencies to reach unsaved people for Christ. The selecting and supporting of missionaries is the Missions Committee's highest function.

Not all Christians are called to be long or short-term missionaries, but they are called to be part of the local witness which brings the unsaved to Jesus Christ. The Missions Committee carries the responsibility of coordinating the financial, personal and spiritual involvement of Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church in mission activities.

The Committee also insures that financial resources are wisely invested in missionaries and mission work which clearly present the gospel message to the world.
